It is extremely difficult to get an appointment at this practice, even when your GP says to book a follow up appointment, “ring back next week or tomorrow” Reception staff does an excellent job of fobbing you off until to raise a complaint It is difficult to get through on the phone and emails are not answered in a timely manner. GP’s are very reluctant to give you a home visits until pressed. Practice unable to cope efficiently with the influx of a practice merger.

You are not able to make a telephone appointment to see a GP, you can only do so at between specific times of the day even though their website says telephone to book appointments. EMIS appointment booking is a joke, not all doctors listed and if you are prepared to wait over a month to see any GP then it is OK for you. You cannot pre book an appointment to see a GP, the receptionists are extremely good at fobbing you off. The Practice Manager does not respond to complaints, or even emails. Excellent GP’s if you can get to see them. The experience of trying to get to see a GP is frustrating and wastes a lot of patient time.

Went for regular smear test, first time at surgery for this, and first time uncomfortable.

The appointment system needs a complete overhaul, appointment booked a couple of weeks in advance on one day, then notice of further appointment, with same GP, on the day after first appointment. This further appointment was some 2 hours after a nurse appointment. I do not want to waste mine or the medical staffs time, but surely appointments, for whoever, can be made togeather. Appointment staff not interested.

The unusual appointment system has not been explained to new patients who have recently merged from another practice, which this time involved a lot of wasted time by the patient. The doctor explained the system, after finally get to see one some 8 hours later. The system will now involve taking a day absent from employment so that the surgery can arrange a call back sometime during the day, this is no use to many as I cannot receive incoming calls at my employment. The system of pre-booking an appointment is unusual also, a family member requested an appointment to see a specific doctor and was offered an appointment some 30 days+, yet I requested one some weeks later and have been given one within 10 days. Reception was most unhelpful also.
